A volunteer writes: I came across this big beautiful dog as he was chewing on a tennis ball. Banks looked like he was in heaven but immediately dropped the ball when he saw my leash. How could I resist that eager face with those big ears, one slightly higher than the other. That eager face was joined by that wiggling body & the look of pure joy on his face when we reached the outside. Easy out of the cage, Banks walked extremely well on the leash. No pulling, walking by my side, Banks relished the walk as much as I did. He is such a good dog, I fell in love. Banks appeared to be housebroken. Upon returning to the shelter, he immediately grabbed his tennis ball and gave me a look of thanks that endeared him to my heart.

This dog is located at the Staten Island Animal Care&Control (3139 Veterans Rd West, Staten Island 10309). This dog is in danger of being on the euthanasia list and could be scheduled to be killed at any time! If you cannot adopt foster ! Fostering is free and does not have to be pernament it can be short term but will save a life ..contact a rescue group from the link above for more info about fostering
From The ACC site: To help ensure successful adoptions, please fill out a pre-adoption application (http://www.nycacc.org/pdfs/adoptions/AdoptionApplication.pdf) and bring it with you when you come into the Care Center to adopt a pet. If you are coming from outside of the immediately area, it is strongly suggest that you first complete an application and email it to adoption @ nycacc.org -This will allow ACC to answer any questions and resolve any potential obstacles before you make the trip.
