This beautiful work of craftsmanship was originally purchased in the early 1930's from the "Edward W. Powers" Piano store which was once located on 125th Street in Harlem N.Y. See below the actual store ad that ran in the Nov 1930 and Dec 1930 issue of "The Baton".

The Baton was a monthly publication active from (1922-1932) that documented activities of the Institute of Musical Art, Juilliard's predecessor institution
which was founded by Frank Damrosch in 1905.
The period from 1900 to 1930 was the heyday of piano manufacturing during which many fine instruments were being built.
Read below an article published in Jan 16,1926 by the Music Trade Review when piano houses reported an up-rise in piano sales in a time when makers where focusing on improvising the sound of the piano with new improvements and alterations.
